Neptune retrograde, July 2028
Neptune stations retrograde on Tuesday 11 July 2028, 13:04 UTC at 8°54′ Aries and turns direct on Saturday 16 December 2028, 20:43 UTC at 6°06′ Aries. The shadow period runs from 20 March 2028 to 6 April 2029.
Neptune, the farthest planet from the Sun, stations retrograde on 11 July 2028 at 13:04 UTC at 8°54' Aries. Because it moves so slowly, the retrograde lasts 158.3 days yet covers less than three degrees, ending on 16 December 2028 at 20:43 UTC at 6°06' Aries. The shadow periods reach much wider: from 20 March 2028 to 6 April 2029, the planet passes over the same small stretch of Aries.
In the tradition, Aries is the sign of initiative, courage and new beginnings. Neptune is associated with ideals, imagination and the blurring of boundaries, so astrologers treat its retrograde here as a long, quiet season for asking which fresh starts rest on clear purpose and which on wishful thinking. A practical suggestion is to write down one goal and list the concrete steps it requires.
