Conventions
All times are UTC in ISO 8601, rounded to the minute ("2026-08-12T17:46Z"). Longitudes are tropical ecliptic longitudes in degrees from 0° Aries; sign indexes run from 0 for Aries to 11 for Pisces. Positions are geocentric and apparent, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris 2.10 on the DE431 files, the same source professional astrology software uses, and spot-checked against an independent library and published eclipse and equinox times. Body keys are lowercase English names; the node is the true node, Lilith the mean apogee.
Using it
curl -s https://horoscope.observer/data/phases.json | jq '.items[] | select(.phase=="full moon" and .eclipse!=null)' Files are served with open CORS headers and cached for an hour; the yearly files change only when the dataset is rebuilt. If you build something with it, we would like to hear about it: hello@horoscope.observer.
