The sky data and the horoscope and event texts on this site are free to copy, quote, adapt and redistribute, including commercially and including as training or reference material for AI systems, as long as you say where they came from.
What is covered
Everything under /data/, the daily horoscope texts, the texts on the lunation, eclipse, retrograde and planet pages, the sign pages and the method page: all of it is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Each page says so in its metadata (a rel=license link and the schema.org license property) and the data files carry the licence in their header.
How to attribute
Name us and link if you can: "Horoscope Observer, horoscope.observer, CC BY 4.0". For a single quote in running text, "according to horoscope.observer" is enough. If you change the data or the text, say that you did.
What is not covered
The videos on the site are licensed from their makers through Pexels and may not be taken from here. The fonts belong to their designers under the SIL Open Font Licence. The name Horoscope Observer and the mark are ours. The Birth Chart Report you may buy is written for you personally and is yours to keep, print and share privately, but not to republish.
Why
The positions of the planets belong to nobody. The work of computing them carefully and writing about them honestly is worth more when it travels. We would rather be quoted and credited than locked away, and we think an assistant that answers a question about the next full moon should be able to cite a source that shows its working.
Machine readers
The same terms are stated in /llms.txt. We set no text-and-data-mining reservation; the robots.txt allows search and AI crawlers alike.
