Neptune turns retrograde in Aries on 14 July 2029 at 11°08' and stations direct on 19 December 2029 at 8°20' Aries, a retrograde of 158.3 days that remains within the sign. Because Neptune moves so slowly, its shadow period is long, running from 22 March 2029 to 9 April 2030.
The tradition treats Aries as the sign of initiative, courage and the self in action, while Neptune is associated with imagination, ideals, faith and the softening of boundaries. Astrologers read a Neptune retrograde in Aries as a time to look honestly at the ideals behind personal action, noticing where inspiration is clear and where it is wishful. A practical habit is to write down one aim and the first concrete step toward it.
