Mercury crosses from Libra into Scorpio on 30 September 2026 at 11:44 UTC and remains for 67 days. It enters Sagittarius on 6 December at 08:33 UTC. The long stay includes a retrograde from 24 October to 13 November 2026. Scorpio is a fixed water sign ruled by Pluto.
The tradition treats Scorpio as the sign of depth, privacy, intensity and what lies beneath the surface. Astrologers read Mercury here as a probing, investigative mind, drawn to research, to honest conversations about difficult subjects and to noticing what goes unsaid. The shadow side is suspicion, or holding information too tightly. The retrograde weeks are customarily read as a time to revisit rather than launch. A practical idea: return to an unfinished piece of research and check its sources.
