Mercury moves from Aquarius into Pisces on 1 February 2027 at 01:26 UTC, but the stay is short and unsettled. Mercury turns retrograde on 9 February 2027 and backs into Aquarius on 18 February 2027 at 12:16 UTC, after 17 days. The retrograde continues until 3 March 2027. Pisces is a water sign of the mutable mode, ruled by Neptune.
The tradition considers Pisces a difficult sign for Mercury, because logic and precise wording give way to intuition, imagery and mood. Astrologers read this placement as good for imagination, music, poetry and empathy, and less suited to fine detail. Since a retrograde begins here, the usual reading is to slow down, reread messages and accept that thoughts may be hazy for a while. A modest suggestion is to keep notes of ideas and dreams without pressing them into firm decisions yet.
