Mercury leaves Gemini for Cancer on 1 July 2029 at 12:01 UTC. Its stay is a short one, 14 days, ending when it moves into Leo on 15 July 2029 at 13:37 UTC. Cancer is a cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon, and Mercury travels forward through it without a retrograde.
The tradition treats Mercury in Cancer as a mind that thinks through feeling and memory. Astrologers link the sign with home, family, belonging and care, and read this placement as favoring conversations that are gentle, personal and rooted in shared history. The same sensitivity is said to make words land harder than intended. One practical idea from this reading: a phone call or letter to someone close, or an afternoon sorting old papers and photographs at home.
