Mercury in Aquarius, 2026
Mercury enters Aquarius on Tuesday 20 January 2026, 16:41 UTC, which is in your time zone. It leaves for Pisces on Friday 6 February 2026, 22:48 UTC, after 17 days.
Mercury leaves Capricorn for Aquarius at 16:41 UTC on 20 January 2026 and stays for 17 days. It moves on to Pisces on 6 February 2026 at 22:48 UTC. There is no retrograde during this brief passage. Aquarius is a fixed air sign, ruled in modern astrology by Uranus.
The tradition treats Mercury as the planet of thought, speech and exchange, and Aquarius as the sign of groups, networks, ideas about the future and independent thinking. Astrologers read this combination as favoring detached, inventive reasoning and conversations about shared concerns, though the fixed quality can make opinions hard to shift once formed. A modest suggestion for these weeks: write down one idea you have been circling and share it with a friend or group whose judgment you trust, then listen to their questions.
