Upcoming, the December solstice
Sun in Capricorn, 2027
Sun enters Capricorn on Wednesday 22 December 2027, 02:42 UTC, which is in your time zone. It leaves for Aquarius on Thursday 20 January 2028, 13:22 UTC, after 29 days.
The Sun crosses from Sagittarius into Capricorn on 22 December 2027 at 02:42 UTC, marking the December solstice. It stays in this earth sign, cardinal in mode and ruled by Saturn, for 29 days. It moves on to Aquarius on 20 January 2028 at 13:22 UTC. The Sun never turns retrograde, so the passage runs steadily from start to finish.
Astrologers read Capricorn as the sign of structure, responsibility and long, patient effort. The tradition treats the Sun's month here as a season for taking stock of commitments and the ground they rest on. Saturn's rulership adds a taste for realistic limits and slow, solid progress, and the solstice has long been treated as a turning point in the year. A modest practice: choose one ongoing task and give it a clear, workable next step.
