Sun in Aquarius, 2026
Sun enters Aquarius on Tuesday 20 January 2026, 01:45 UTC, which is in your time zone. It leaves for Pisces on Wednesday 18 February 2026, 15:52 UTC, after 30 days.
The Sun leaves Capricorn for Aquarius on 20 January 2026 at 01:45 UTC and remains there for 30 days, moving into Pisces on 18 February at 15:52 UTC. Aquarius is an air sign of fixed mode, ruled by Uranus in the modern scheme. There is no retrograde to note, since the Sun never appears to move backward.
Astrologers read Aquarius as the sign of groups, friendship, ideas and independent thinking, with a fixed streak that holds firmly to principles. The Sun's passage is taken to emphasize these themes: community, reform and the space between personal freedom and shared purpose. The tradition suggests these weeks suit looking outward. One modest step is to reconnect with a group or friend you have drifted from, or give an hour to a shared project.
