Jupiter in Leo

Jupiter spends about a year in each sign and circles the zodiac in twelve. Its ingress is the big yearly change in Western astrology: a new sign gets a year of expansion, confidence and sometimes excess. Each stay comes with a four-month retrograde that briefly returns Jupiter to the previous sign in some years.
