Cancer is the setting for this new moon, exact at 03:02 UTC on 4 July 2027, with the Sun and Moon together at 11°57' of the sign. The Moon is about 358,804 km from Earth, and there is no eclipse. No planet is within orb of a major aspect to the lunation, and Mercury and Pluto are both retrograde.
Cancer is a cardinal water sign ruled by the Moon, and the tradition connects it with home, family, belonging and emotional security. A new moon in the sign its own ruler governs is often read as especially personal, a quiet moment to tend to what makes daily life feel safe. With Mercury retrograde, astrologers tend to favor reviewing and revisiting over starting from scratch. A practical idea: pick one small corner of your home or routine that has been neglected and give it some care this week.
