Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign ruled by Saturn, associated in the tradition with work, duty, reputation and patient effort. Astrologers treat a new moon as the seed point of the lunar month, a time for beginnings that are small and deliberate. With Mercury in conjunction, the emphasis is read as falling on planning, conversations and written commitments. A modest suggestion is to choose one goal for the month, break it into a few clear steps, and put the first of them on a calendar.
