Early on 23 August 2025, at 06:07 UTC, the Moon joins the Sun at 0°23' Virgo, the very start of the sign. The Moon is 387,053 km away. Uranus squares the lunation within a close 1.0 degree. There is no eclipse, and Saturn, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron are all retrograde at the time.
Virgo is a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury. The tradition associates it with craft, routine, daily habits and the careful sorting of details. A new moon here is read as a moment to begin refining how ordinary life runs. Astrologers treat a square from Uranus as a jolt of the unexpected, a nudge to let a routine change shape rather than defend it. One small suggestion: review a single daily habit and adjust just one part of it.
